I think the book will be about heat in the desert or the heat off the ball after it hits the bat.
The book is actually about a young twelve-year old boy whose father dies after a tragic heart attack, and cannnot play baseball anymore. The twelve-year-old boy also cannot play because of rumors about his age, while also trying to obtain his birth certifcate from Cuba.

His dad had a heart attack. He misses playing baseball with his Papi. Michael`s skill as a pitcher leads to rumors that he is older than he appears. This leads to the league demanding that he be benched. This continues as he tries to get his birth certificate from Cuba.

I think this book takes place somewhere in t he Gobi Desert. It must have something to do with humans and the ability to survive the hot weather.
This book is about a boy with outstanding pitching ability. He loses his greatest motivator, his papi. He is benched due to his non ability to document his age. Finally, his birth certificate from Cuba is available and he goes on to be successful.
