Percy is different - really different. He can't sit still in class and has been thrown out of several schools because weird things happen when he's around and of course he gets blamed. When he visits a museum with his class (he's sworn to his mother to be on his best behavior) a teacher turns into a monster with glowing eyes, his ball point pen becomes a sword and...well let's just say Percy reacts. An adventure begins with a Hogwarts type school, several encounters with mythical monsters (yes - Medusa is one of them!) and a meeting with his real dad. Those famous Greek myths are famous for a reason - they are great stories!

We think "The Lightning Thief" is about a theif that is lightning fast and strikes quickly.
Now that we have reaserched "The Lightning Theif, we know that the book is based on characters from Greek Mythology and is about Zeus acccusing Poseiden of stealing his lightning bolt and Poseiden's son, Perseus( Percy), tries to find the lightning bolt to save humanity from total destruction from a war of the gods.
I am doing the book The Lighting Thief. I think the book is about a thief that is sneaky and fast. He has never been caught before.
The book is truly about boy Percy that is son of the greek god Posiden and a mortal for a mother. His father was accused of steeling Zeus' lighting bolt. Zeus' was so mad he killed Percy mother. Unless he finds and returns his lightning bolt the humankind is doomed. While the gods are geting ready for war Percy goes out to find it. This book is awsome and I recomend it for kids who like funny, unpredictable, fast paced adventure.

The Lightning Thief is about a boy who is born to a Poseidon and a mortal. A plethora of strange events happen to him and he finds out his own heritage. When he goes on his class trip he promises his mother he will not get into any trouble but then the monsters take over and he has nothing left to do but fight. On the journey, he finds his father and helps save mankind.

prediction: A theif that is an expert in the art of stealing and can move really fast. He probably steals other peoples goods and everyone in the town is trying to catch him, but he is too fast and sneaky. I think in the end the theif gets caught or leaves the town and is never heard of again.
Actual: A child name Percy who has ADHD and is dyslexic. On a field trip to a museum he imagines that his teacher turns into a monster and he takes over and is now a warrior. He meets his real dad who is Poseidon and through out the rest of this book he imgines he is in a godly world.
We think that The Lighting Thief is a heroic book (though we have not read it yet) that Percy will learn about himself and his father.
